NOTES FROM 2019 ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER
We had a great turnout for the annual dinner/meeting this year, which was held at the Ute Museum in Montrose. Club members visited for a while before the digging in to the scrumptious salads and pasta dishes catered by the Camp Robber Restaurant.
After dinner, long time members David and Mary Jane Masters presented a slide show and shared stories about their experiences on the Tour de Mont Blanc trek through France, Switzerland, and Italy. It is said to be one of the most famous long-distance treks in the world (105 miles) and we all got a sense while listening to David and MJ why that is the case. The slides from their trip showed us a little bit of the incredible scenery and the story of their adventure had many of us putting this trek on our bucket lists!
We had two club awards presented this year. One was to honor our “most dedicated runner” and the other to acknowledge our “most dedicated volunteer.” The awards went to Caroline McAndrews and Dan Quigley, respectively. Thanks again to both of them for their contributions to making SJMR a better club.
