SATURDAY FUN RUNS: As of Saturday, May 7th, we will be meeting at 8:00 AM at Looney Bean (3480 Wolverine Dr in Montrose, near Target). Runners, joggers, walkers, all ages, all abilities – please come join us. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. Hope to see you there!

The Black Canyon Ascent 6-mile Run and Challenge Walk features a tough, scenic 6-mile course starting at an elevation of 6500′ and climbing almost 2,000′ to the rim of the Black Canyon National Park. For over 40 years, beautiful vistas and scenic surroundings have inspired people to challenge themselves and the competition in this classic Western Colorado event. After the race, participants and their family and friends can enjoy visiting the spectacular Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The race is also the San Juan Mountain Runners’ primary fundraiser for several local non-profits.

Start the holiday with a 2 mile or 4.2 mile fun-run/walk. Register that morning starting at 8:00 AM, events start at 9:00 AM. Strollers and well-behaved dogs on a leash welcomed. Fun for the whole family!  No online registration; event day registration is $5/person or $15/family.
